What this tool does

It parses the JSON you paste, checks it's syntactically valid, and re-prints it either indented (Format) or on a single line with no whitespace (Minify). If the JSON is invalid, it tells you exactly what's wrong and roughly where.

When to use it

Cleaning up a minified API response so you can actually read it
Checking that a config file or payload is valid before you commit it
